The purpose of the Division of Fine Arts is to educate and equip students with a strong foundation in Visual Arts, Drama, or Music training based on a combined understanding of history, theory, and practical application within their chosen discipline.
Students within the Division of Fine Arts will:
1) be adequately prepared to continue upper-level study
2) be provided an opportunity to acquire an appreciation of the arts
3) develop techniques of creative expression.
The Fine Arts student will serve the cultural needs of the College community as well as contribute to the intellectual and cultural like of the surrounding community.
The curricula for each department within the Division of Fine Arts emphasizes the development of functional artistic skills and a broad background in the liberal arts by offering as Associate of Arts (A.A.) or Associate of Fine Arts (A.F.A)
All courses offered at Lon Morris College contribute to the Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Arts, and Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees at most four-year institutions, as well as toward certification in the teaching field.
