Curriculum and Scheduling

(1)  Membership: Five full‑time faculty members to include at least two with five years of experience at Lon Morris.  The academic dean, the director of Henderson Library, the registrar, and the director of student services are members ex‑officio.  Two sophomore students will serve as voting members.  Student members will represent two different academic divisions and will have GPAs of 3.0 or better.

(2)  Selection:  Members will be elected by each division.  A fourth and fifth member will be elected at‑large by the faculty.  The student members will be appointed by the Student Senate after an open invitation has been issued to the student body.  Student members will serve from October through May.

(3)  Purpose: Plan and design class schedules, and evaluate and recommend curriculum changes as part of a procedure approved by the Board of Trustees.

(4)   Duties:

(a)  Assist the academic dean in planning and designing the class schedules for each term.

(b)  Evaluate and recommend proposed curriculum changes to the faculty.

(c)  Procedure:  Recommendations for course changes will be given to this committee from each academic department.  This committee will evaluate each suggestion and make recommendations to the faculty, which act on them in accordance with Board policy.
