Lon Morris College Theatre Season 2006-2007
Bus Stop, by William Inge, directed by Toni L. Wright. The course of true love is indeed bumpy in this colorful slice of Fifties Americana when a busload of strangers get stuck on a snowy winter's night in a rundown diner-bus stop. This optimistic romantic comedy concerns a likeable but socially and sexually naive young cowboy from Montana who falls head over heels in love (and lust) with a young woman trying to make a living singing in a seedy nightclub. How this young bronco gets busted is fun and funny to watch!
September 21-24 and September 29-October 1

Godspell, Music by Stephen Schwartz. Conceived by John Michael Tebelak, directed by Jami Hughes.

One of the biggest off-Broadway and Broadway successes of all time, Godspell is based on the Gospel according to St. Matthew. Using parables and a string of recognizable songs, including the international hit, "Day By Day", the cast makes their way through "Prepare Ye The Way Of The Lord," "Save The People," "Learn Your Lessons Well," "Bless The Lord," "All For The Best," "All Good Gifts," "Turn Back, O Man" and "By My Side," and we, the audience, get to see the parables of Jesus Christ come humanly and hearteningly to life. This wholesome musical is never out of style and serves as wonderful preparation for the Christmas season. November 2-5 and November 10-12

Hamlet by William Shakespeare, adapted and directed by Denise Weatherly-Green.
While struggling with the grief over his father's untimely death, Hamlet is challenged to avenge his father's murder. Through unique twists and turns, this story of love, lunacy, death and deceit ultimately delivers a message of hope and heroism that is a relevant today as it was to ages past.
February 15-18 and February 23-25

Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams, directed by Toni Wright.
Tom Wingfield is a dreamer who lives with his domineering mother Amanda and his fragile, limping sister Laura. Amanda wants nothing more than to marry off her woefully shy daughter and keeps bugging Tom to bring home an acceptable suitor. Tom finally obliges and corrals coworker James Naughton for an evening at the Wingfield home. Amanda, a harridan-like smothering mother who means well, acts as though 'the gentlemen caller' has signed up for the nuptial short-course. In superb Tennessee Williams style, reality bites as each character slowly determines whether his/her glass of life is half-empty or half-full.
