There are two types of membership in SAGA; Officers and General Members.
All students seeking membership must complete a membership form, available in the Office of Student Activities.
OFFICER MEMBERSHIP
There are five officer positions for SAGA
President
Vice-President
Publicity Chair
Secretary/Treasurer
Historian
Officers are selected in two different ways. The President and Vice President are selected through an interview process by Student Affairs staff and the outgoing officers. A Letter of Application must be submitted before the announced deadline to progress to the interview portion of the application process.
President and Vice-President are selected in the Spring Semester.
The Publicity Chair, Historian and Secretary/Treasurer positions are open to all general members, and are selected by two thirds majority vote of the S.A.G.A.
These positions are selected in the Fall Semester.
GENERAL MEMBERSHIP
General membership in SAGA simply requires filling out the Membership Form.
Candidates for membership describe their reasons for wanting to join SAGA during a general meeting. The organization then reviews the application, and puts the nominee up for a 2/3 vote.
