Graduation from an accredited high school or a minimum score of 40 on each test and an overall average of 45 on the General Education Development (GED) test. Candidates who fail to submit records of high school graduation or passing GED scores –
Will be admitted conditionally and limited to four major classes (classes of three or more semester credit hours)
Must submit missing records before the end of their first semester of their conditional admission will be converted to admission on academic probation.
Submit admission test scores
Applicants with a TAAS scale score of 1770 or higher and a TLI score of at least 89 on the reading test are exempt from the required admissions test and receive unconditional full acceptance.
Other applicants must submit ACT, SAT, THEA (TASP), or THEA-alternative scores before admission. If students submit scores for more than one entrance test, Lon Morris will accept the highest scores. Admissions status will be based on the verbal scores of these tests as follows:
ACT, 19-33; SAT, 500-800; THEA, pass both reading and writing sections. Unconditional Acceptance
ACT, 15-18; SAT, 400-499; THEA, 180-219*. Conditional admission. Other indicators are considered such as high school grades, but students may be encouraged to enroll in developmental classes. Unless granted permission by the Academic Dean, student may enroll in no more than four major classes (classes of 3 or 4 semester credit hours).
ACT, 0-11; SAT, 200-324; THEA, 100-149*. Admitted on academic probation. Students must take developmental English classes as assigned and, unless granted permission by the Academic Dean, may enroll in no more than four major classes. They must earn a grade-point average of at least 1.50 to be eligible to enroll for a second semester. *lower of THEA Reading or Writing scores
Students intending to major in music must perform an entrance audition as set forth in the Department of Music General Requirements sections of the
Procedures
Beginning students should submit the following documents to the Office of Admissions:
Completed LMC Application with a non-refundable fee of $35.00
An official high school transcript or GED certificate.
