Applied Teacher of Strings 

 Lon Morris College
 is looking for a qualified part-time Applied Teacher of
Strings for the Fall 2008 semester.

 

The major responsibility is teaching applied strings (violin, viola, cello, double bass) to undergraduate (freshman and sophomore) music and non-music majors.

 

Secondary assignments may include such areas as music appreciation, music theory, music literature, or other areas according to candidate's strengths and departmental needs.

 

Required Qualifications:

·        A Master’s Degree in Music (with at least 18 graduate hours in Music)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

·        Teaching experience at the college level.

·        Active Performer

Scenic Designer/Technical Director (2008)

 

Lon Morris College, a small private faith based two year institution seeks a team oriented and energetic person to serve as Designer-Technical Director for a strong production oriented program offering AA and AFA degrees in Theatre and Musical Theatre.  This is a 10-month renewable contract and begin August, 2008.

 

Production responsibilities include designing sets, lights and sound for four Mainstage productions per academic year; development of ground plans, elevations and/or models; execution of all technical aspects (building and painting of scenery, light hang and focus, etc.); supervision of scene shop and student work crews, attendance at all tech/dress rehearsals and production meetings.   Hand drafting skills a necessity; ability to use design and drafting software (AutoCad, VectorWorks, etc.) a plus. 

 

Academic responsibilities include teaching Stagecraft I and II, Scenic Design, Stage Make-up, Theatre Practicum and occasionally Theatre Appreciation.   Possibility for directing is available. 

 

Interested candidates should possess advanced interpersonal communication skills, the willingness to be a team player, a serious commitment to undergraduate theatre education in a Christian environment, and an honest commitment to student mentoring.  All LMC faculty participate in academic advising, committee service, and student retention and recruiting.

   Annual Fund Coordinator

Office of Development

 

Lon Morris College is seeking a full-time annual giving professional to join the Office of Development.  The Annual Fund Coordinator will be a key member of the Development team which oversees the development and management of the annual campaigns of Lon Morris College.  The Annual Fund Coordinator reports directly to the Vice President for Development.

 

Principal responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Setting annual dollar objectives, establishing strategies to reach those objectives and monitoring progress against those objectives
  • The design and execution of annual giving programs that are clear in their expectations, consistent and have positive outcomes
  • Design and execute programs which cover a variety of solicitation methods including telefund calls, direct mail, e-communications and other creative uses of technology to increase total annual donations and gift revenue from alumni, parents, faculty / staff, friends and other segments
  • Performs data analysis and manipulation related to all aspects of the annual fund program.  Uses statistics to evaluate current annual programs and to make recommendations for program changes
  • Working with campus departments to enhance their Annual Fund and Sponsorship programs
  • The identification of donors worthy of movement to higher giving levels
  • Work closely with alumni to assure cultivation of annual donors.  Personal visits when appropriate
  • Coordinate special events including but not limited to recognition luncheons, giving club meetings and galas, and other functions both on and off campus
  • Responsible for making cold calls, following up on leads and closing deals
  • Other tasks as assigned

 Requirements:

 

  • Previous experience in overseeing Annual Fund campaigns and methods of electronic marketing as well as conventional membership campaigns
  • Experience in general fundraising or sales and marketing with a solid understanding of fundraising principle and methodologies
  • Demonstrated creativity and excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills;  ability to work towards goals within deadlines
  • Experience in marketing / direct mail marketing is an asset
  • Bachelor’s degree required

Assistant to Director of Campus Life


 Lon Morris College is seeking a qualified  individual to serve as program support for the Office of Campus Life.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties are as  included; data entry in College administrative software, assign facilities, order educational materials/equipment, arrange for audio/visual equipment, prepare letters of agreement, enter grades, mail certificates and invoice customers. Coordinates with instructors, managers and students. Provides quality customer service to internal and external customers. Develops and maintains relationships with business and industry clients. Assist Director of Campus Life with hiring, training, and assigning student staff. Files and compiles reports of Resident Assistant paperwork.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree and 1 year related work experience; or Associate degree and 3 years experience; or high school diploma and 5 years experience. Must have Microsoft office skills and database management exposure. Ideal candidate will be a mature self-starter who can work with minimal supervision. Candidate must be a team player that is detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills, degree preferred.

Salary :  $20,000 - $22,000
