Lon Morris College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, GA 30033-4097:  telephone number 404-679-4501) to award the associate's degree.  The College is also approved by the University Senate of the United Methodist Church and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. 

Lon Morris College is an active member of the Independent Colleges and Universities of Texas, the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, the Texas United Methodist College Association, the National Association of Schools and Colleges of the United Methodist Church, and the American Association of Community Colleges.
